INTERVIEW: Me, Wok and Tony Interviewed about Bruce
Russell McGilton from RMIT interviews all three of us about Bruce (as well as asking me about Beef too!) in late 2017, uploaded earlier this year. Thanks for the interest Russell!

INTERVIEW: Me on the ABC, talking Beef and Bruce and Wealthy Benefactors
The trouble with talking on the radio is they ask questions that I have no answers for ("So, what's your career plan?"), and I, being the socially-wrong terrifyingly-honest person that I am, have to answer them on the fly ("I have no plans - I'm just hoping to one day meet a wealthy benefactor and become some kind of creativity-slave.")
INTERVIEWED ON ABC RADIO
Do I appear awkward or strange? Do I appear Aspergery or amusing? Do I appear boring or irrelevant? DO I APPEAR AT ALL?
You be the judge. Eep!

NEWS: Three more wins for 'Bruce'!
Me, Wok and Tony, pre-awards... we're all smiling now!
Can you believe it? The International Academy of Web Television had a little awards do, and we came away with three victories in all three of the categories we were nominated for:
Best Direction (Comedy), Best Writing (Comedy) and Best Comedy! Woohoo!
Feast your eyes on the glory here!

NEWS: I'll be part of a panel for the Digital Writers' Festival!
"What is it that makes web series the perfect format for pushing
boundaries? How do you construct a serial that sticks? And what
challenges do writers face working for a digital audience? Three
award-winning digital writers discuss their writing practice and
production process, as well as exploring the best serial content pushing
boundaries today."
And I'm one of them! I'll be talking about my experiences with Bruce, what other webseries I'm enjoying, and what I think the future holds for webseries in general. The answers to those last two questions are "I don't know any other webseries" and "I've got no idea, I don't even know what the present holds, sorry, you're really asking the wrong guy". But hopefully I can still bring something to the discussion, even if it's only mild good-naturedness and slightly-bumbling-but-loveable ineptitude.
(Eep.)
At least you can listen to other panelists, Hayley Adams and Julie Kalceff, who are far more qualified than I to educate and inspire, and probably have very good answers to those questions, which will no doubt be told in an entertaining fashion, with a minumum of stumbling and stammering and awkward tangents (unlike my own). So it's probably still worth tuning in for.

NEWS: 'Bruce' gets Best Screenplay!
Wok and I accepting Best Screenplay at the Melbourne WebFest,
as well as two "Ruby Tickets" for the Marseille and Seoul WebFests!
'Bruce' has won another award, and this one really moved me lots. We won Best Screenplay! Woohoo! This one was super special for me, because the first thing people see with Bruce is the amazing cinematography and vision - it's hard to miss, really - but this award meant that the judges had somehow seen past the incredible visuals and into the many years of hard work that Wok and I put into the wordular arrangement that lies beneath the eyecandy. We were nominated for five awards that night, but there was only one that I wanted to win - AND WE DID!
Just so stoked by this. Very very awesome!
Go Bruce Team go!

NEWS: Wok and I interviewed by Melbourne Webfest about 'Bruce'
Myself and Warwick were asked a few questions about Bruce, our motivations, our inspirations, our attitudes to improvisation, and how it's really fucking hard to get any money.

NEWS: AND WE WON!
WE WON!
WE TOTALLY WON!
WE TOTALLY WON BEST DRAMA!
...which is kinda funny, because we always thought Bruce was a comedy. But we're not fussed, really: it was a fucking dark comedy, and we're definitely happy that the story-telling and characters were strong enough to impress. So huzzah to us!
NOTE: I couldn't be there at the awards ceremony, but I did photoshop myself into the picture of Tony and Wok accepting the award. And, in this new age of "alternative facts", that seems perfectly fine and dandy.

INTERVIEW: LV Book Design ask me about Writing
We talk about heart-warming rejections, the vortex of the research/writing cycle, the pain of editing, and the slippery moments of inspiration.
"As far as I'm concerned, I'm a very normal person. It's just everyone
else that's quirky and undecipherable and irrational and were told the
rules of the game and when to start playing."

INTERVIEW: Wok and I interviewed about Bruce by 2SER
Six minutes or so of Wok and I blabbing about Bruce on the 2SER breakfast show. Slightly entertaining, relatively interesting, mildly informative, and a bit embarrasing (I kept talking over Wok, dammit - but, in my defense, I was several hundred kilometres away at the time).

NEWS: "Bruce" featured on new webseries "Watch This"!
Much excitement and delight were experienced at discovering our little black comedy series Bruce being featured stark raving first on C J Johnson's and Jim Flanagan's new movie-based webseries "Watch This". Woohoo! Although Jim thinks our dialogue is both a) mostly improvised (it wasn't) and b) mostly shit (well, that's a matter of taste, innit), I think we won him over in the end. And C J seems like a true fan. Huzzah!

INTERVIEW: "Bruce" on the ABC!
Well, Bruce is going great guns! Seems to be making some small sort of impact, which is nice: just this week I've done two phone interviews about it with various media folk, exciting! This is the first one: Wok and I were invited into the Southbank ABC survival bunker to chat with the very encouraging CJ Johnson, talking about the long development of Bruce, the mottled history of Australian historical comedy, and the future of online entertainment. The interview is available in its entirety as a podcast here:
Wok and I are about 25 minutes in. Enjoy!
Oh, and if you haven't seen it yet, Bruce is very very watchable online for free at:
